Dividends are calculated based on the average daily balance in the account. If requirements are met, a higher rate will be paid for the first $25,000 and a lower rate will be paid for any amounts over $25,000.

What makes up my VantageScore?

Credit scoring models weigh many different factors, including the mix of types of accounts, the number of accounts you have and the length of time you've had them.

How can I see my credit score?

You will need to enroll in VantageScore Credit Reporting to see your credit score in Wings' digital banking. To enroll, find the VantageScore tile on your dashboard in digital banking, then agree to the disclosure. Once you have enrolled, you will see your credit score on your account dashboard.

Why is my credit score different with VantageScore?

It's important to recognize that the various scoring models use slightly different criteria to determine your credit score. Newer models like VantageScore 4.0 are designed on the most recent timeframe and represent current consumer and lending practices. More data is incorporated to give a more complete picture of your credit standing. Also:

  • Lenders use a variety of third-party models, as well as customized models. Monitor your score, but realize that it may not be the same model or score used on a future loan application.
  • If your score declined to an extent that you think lenders will offer you poorer terms and higher rates:
    • Examine the reason codes provided with your score to understand which behaviors are causing the decline.
    • Consider using a credit monitoring tool that provides recommendations for improving your score.
    • Check your credit reports for accuracy.
Will getting the scores through Wings affect my credit score?

No. The reports pulled for this are called “soft” inquiries. Soft inquiries are all credit inquiries where your credit is NOT being reviewed by a prospective lender.

Will the tool offer credit monitoring?
Yes. When you enroll in the credit score solution, you are automatically enrolled in credit monitoring. Your credit report is scanned daily, and notification is sent when a significant change is detected.

Credit Unions

What is a Credit Union and how do they differ from banks?

A Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned and member-operated financial cooperative. We offer members comprehensive financial services at very competitive rates and terms. And, we do it with the personal attention our members deserve.

Unlike banks, credit unions are member-owned financial cooperatives; so when you join Wings Financial Credit Union, your initial $5 deposit to open a Share Savings account establishes your membership and makes you a part-owner.

Since there are no outside bank stockholders to satisfy, Wings passes on the savings to you in the form of lower mortgage and loan rates, fewer service fees and higher yields on savings and checking.

PMI is typically required if your down payment is less than 20% of the home's value. It is designed to protect the lender in case you stop making payments on your loan.

NCUA Insurance

How is it different than FDIC?

The FDIC is the federal regulatory body overseeing banks while NCUA oversees credit unions. Both insure the deposits of individuals up to $250,000.

Is my money safe?

Yes, credit union deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) per individual up to $250,000. The $250,000 in coverage applies to each share owner, per insured credit union, for each account ownership category. You can also use the NCUA’s Share Insurance Estimator to calculate insurance coverage.

What is NCUA?

Created by the U.S. Congress in 1970, the National Credit Union Administration is an independent federal agency that insures deposits at federally insured credit unions, protects the members who own credit unions, and charters and regulates federal credit unions. Overdraft Services

What are the standard overdraft practices that come with my account?
You have overdraft protection from you Share Savings account. It can also be arranged from other accounts, including line of credit. Transfers will occur once per day in an amount equal to the cumulative overdrafts for that day, up to the amount of available funds. Transfers occur the night after the overdrafts,

In addition, if there are insufficient funds in your linked overdraft protection accounts, we may cover the following types of transactions (Courtesy Pay):
  • Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
  • Automatic bill payments (recurring debit card and ACH payments)
We DO NOT authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to (see below):
  • ATM Transactions
  • Everyday debit card transactions (one-time transactions)
We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means you do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. We typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits, or if you have too many overdrafts. In addition, we do not pay overdrafts on new accounts and if they primary account holder is under 18 years old.

If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.

You have 30 days to bring your account to a positive balance. However, Wings will discontinue covering items once an account has been negative for 20 days.
What fees will I be charged if Wings pays my overdraft?
Under our standard overdraft practices:
  • There is no charge for transfers from other tied accounts and lines of credit.
  • We will charge you a Courtesy Fee of up to $30 each time we pay an overdraft.
  • We will not charge a fee if the overdraft is for an item that is less than $10.

What is an overdraft?

Personal Tellers

Is a conversation with a Personal Teller private?

A conversation with a Personal Teller is just as private as if a member were talking to a teller in the branch, but for greater privacy there is a handset.

Is there a fee to use a PTM?

No, using a PTM is the same as going to a teller window inside a branch. There are no additional fees.

What cash denominations does the PTM/ATM disperse?

PTMs can disperse cash in 1s, 5s, 20s, 50s or 100s. ATMs will only disperse in 5s, 20s, 50s or 100s.

What does the PTM do?

The PTM has a camera for face-to-face transactions, a touch screen so members can enter information, a scanner to scan ID, audio via handset, earbud or speaker, receipt printer, cash and check acceptors, and it functions as a regular ATM when Personal Tellers are not available.

What is a PTM?

A Personal Teller Machine looks like an ATM, but a member can have real-time, face-to-face conversation with a Wings Personal Teller. A video camera on each side allows the member to interact with the Personal Teller located at our corporate offices. Sound is carried through speakers, a handset, or an optional headphone jack on the PTM.

What transactions can a member complete using a PTM?

Members can do just about every transaction they can do with a teller inside one of our branches. Members can make deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cash checks, make loan payments and more!

PTMs are unable to dispense change. If a check is cashed that includes change, the change will be deposited directly into the member’s account.

Why is Wings using Personal Teller Machines?

Wings is dedicated to putting technology to work to create a better banking experience for members. Expanding our service by adding Personal Teller Machines provides greater convenience, just as when we introduced Online Banking and Mobile Apps.

Wings Voice ID

Can I opt out of Voice ID?

Voice ID is a streamlined and secure way to receive service over the phone. However, if you prefer to opt out, you can do so at any time.

Can my voiceprint be stolen?

No, because it's not a recording. Voiceprints are a mathematical representation of the biometric and behavioral features of your voice; a series of numbers that would not allow a hacker to reconstruct your actual voice.

How do I start using Voice ID?

There's nothing specific you need to do. The next time you call Member Services at 1 800 692-2274, we'll create your voiceprint while we're assisting you.

How many voiceprints can be on my account?

Each member will have one voiceprint associated with their account profile. If you have a joint account (say with your spouse), you will each have your own voiceprint.

What if my voiceprint isn't recognized?

If for any reason we're unable to verify your identity through your voiceprint (for example, if there's background noise), we will verify you using alternative methods.

What is a voiceprint?

A voiceprint is a set of traits unique to your voice pattern, created from more than 100 physical and behavioral voice characteristics, including pitch, accent, and the shape/size of your vocal tract.

Will it still work if my voice changes due to a cold?

Generally, yes, the slight changes due to a cold or illness won't interfere with Voice ID. In more extreme instances, we will verify you using alternative methods until you feel better.
